FAQ - GRIT OF DUNOON

Registration: 09:00 - 11:00
You will collect your race number and timing chip at registration, on the day of the event. Please note, numbers are not posted prior to the event.
We will provide cable ties to mount number board and timing chip to bike. Timing chip should be returned once you cross the finishing arch back at the Victorian Pier - please note a fine of £30 is applied to any unreturned chips.
Challenge (Scottish Championships) Start: 11:30
Please make sure you are at the pier for 11:20 for ride briefing, before neutralised start at 11:30.
Explore Start: 11:40 - 12:15
Please ensure you only at the start area after 11:30 (to allow the Challenge wave to set-off first).
Prize Giving: 16:00 - 16:30
We aim to do prize giving and jersey presentations at approximately 16:00 - please note we need to wait until all category riders have completed the ride so timings are provisional.
EVENT HQ
📍 Victorian Pier, Timber Building, Dunoon
All rides and registration are based from the Victorian Pier, which is central to the town of Dunoon and just down the road from the ferry crossing.
Please allow plenty of time for the ferry journey - there are crossings every 15 minutes and the crossing takes about 20 minutes. You can purchase ferry tickets in the Co-op in Gourock for a cheaper rate than on the ferry terminal.
CAR PARKING
Being based in the town centre, we have various free parking spaces near to the event HQ. You can view the various free parking spaces here
CAMPING FACILITIES
📍Dunoon Stadium, Argyll Rd, Kirn, Dunoon PA23 7RL
We have free camping facilities just on the edge of the town at Dunoon Stadium. These come as part of your event entry and include access to water, toilets and camping spot.
There are various accommodation options on offer in and around the town that can be seen here
Camping is available on both Friday and Saturday night - no prior booking is required.
